Art Glass Ensembles was hired to repair and restore over 600 square feet of stained glass windows at First United Methodist Church of Aubrey, Texas. These windows were originally installed around the year 1919. The windows had suffered extensive damage from bb-gun holes, lead and putty fatigue, a baseball which crashed through one of the windows, hail damage, and wood rot. We set up scaffolding inside the church and did all of the repairwork on-site, with the exception of 3 windows which required more extensive repair. Where missing/broken glass was no longer available, we color-matched glass as best we could. Two dedication panels were re-created, and a new dedication panel was added.
All windows were cleaned, repaired, reputtied, sealed, and polished.
